Zambia Fashion Week; What I wore

This post is so late,i know! But, better late than never as the saying goes.

Zambia fashion week took place from 17th to 19th October this year.
Saturday 19th was the grand finale, I opted for a different, simple yet chic look as i figured everybody would be in chitenge fabric outfits.

I threw together a crocheted vest, put black peplum vest and skirt underneath it. I held it all in place with a skinny animal print belt and accessorised with some gold accessories and animal print heels. The crotcheted vest being the highlight of my outfit, i absolutely love it and how it added personality to a simple black look.
Vest from Style_Struck at K180; Bangle set at K60; earrings at K40; Neckpiece at K120 and heels at K 300 all from Style_Struck!

Here's a few other vests i loved, similar to mine, though in faux fur and a few famous faces pulling off them off gorgeously! Get yours and having fun with it!

A MissKombe Original: Emipire Silhoutte

An Empire Line dress is one that has a waistline that is raised above the waist and falls just below the bust.
This particular dress i LOVE as it is an original designed and constructed by myself. The bodice was cut and  fitted to show off my petite bust :) and ends just below the bust to give a high-waist appearance.
The loose skirt lengthens the body and gives the illusion of  a taller me.
I love making dresses, the chitenge (tribal print) fabric choice was inspired by my lovely mother!

Thanksgiving Sunday

This past Sunday was a big day in the New Apostolic Church. It was Thanksgiving Sunday, a day we dedicate to give thanks to the Lord for all that he has blessed and continues to bless us with!

One this lovely Sunday, I dressed up a comfy polka dot tee with a body hugging bandage skirt and a pair of court shoes. I absolutely love all things bandage (dresses, skirts, yes even tops) as they are totally comfortable, allow movement whilst hugging the body in all the right places.

My accessories, as always, are by Style_Struck ;
  Neckpiece  K120
  Earrings      K35
  Bangle set   K60

Fresh Faced For Summer

Nothing says summer like a fresh clean face and bold lip colour. I love pink tint lipsticks, they pop so loud and beautifully, and easily light up a simple makeup look, like mine. Not much eye makeup needed, just a  simple but neatly done cappuccino and eggshell eye shadow combo.

Electric Blue Eye Makeup

I love makeup, everything i know about it is self taught so i try out loads of different looks to keep learning. I recently tried out an electric blue eye shadow, with a lil gun metal type eye shadow to give a mild smokey effect and black eye liner to create borders. I love a berry lip as it seems to go with just about anything, be it heavy or light eye makeup! It all tied together and created a lovely evening makeup look if i do say so myself  :)

#MySummer2013Trend : Palazzo pants !

This trend is elegant and feminine. The wide leg and light fabric make it perfect for those hot summer days.
Palazzo pants are best worn with fitted tops and look great when tucked in,giving the illusion of a taller you.
I paired mine with a fitted floral print blouse and threw a denim vest over it. I accessorised with playful accessories that jazzed up my outfit but opted for a simple glossy black handbag to keep the attention on the pants.

Mixing Prints: Stripes and Houndstooth

I am mildly obsessed with mixing prints. I recently paired a striped skirt with houndstooth heels to work. Stripes act as a neutral and can ground an outfit when paired well with another print like florals, animal print or houndstooth, like my heels! I kept it simple by sticking to a 2 colour palate; black and white.
